The Scooby Doo, Where are You! Cartoon series was created by Joe Ruby, Fred Silverman, Ken Spears and Iwao Takamoto and is basically an action, adventure, comedy and mystery cartoon. On the 13th of September 1969, The Scooby Doo cartoon was released on the CBS television channel in the United States of America. The Scooby Doo cartoon lasted for just one year till 31st of October 1970, after which it was repeated with the episodes. In total, there were 25 episodes of the Scooby Doo cartoon series, each lasting for around 21 minutes, excluding the breaks. Every Saturday morning at 10:30 am, The Scooby Doo cartoon used to attract kids, teenagers and even adults to see the mystery-revealing cartoon by Hannah – Barbera.

THE PURPOSE OF SCOOBY DOO
Scooby Doo series was created basically so that the parents who are concerned about their kids watching the violent cartoon series like the super hero ones or those that taught the kids bad manners, could feel satisfied that their child is watching something that he would learn from. The Scooby Doo cartoons are purely adventure and mystery revealing cartoons that teach the kids to be analytical and observant in life.

INTERSTING MYSTERY REVEALED IN EVERY EPISODE
The Scooby Doo cartoon series revealed one mystery or the other in every episode of theirs. The usual scene was that the bright Scooby Doo van bused to get broken due to technical default, because of which the entire Scooby Doo gang had to forcible spend their night at some place, which eventually turned out to be some ghost occupied area. The entire Scooby Doo gang used to spread up, find facts, look for clues and work on the whole mystery to reveal it. They, in the end find out that the monster thing was fake and set a trap to catch the culprit. It so happens that the trap is either spoiled by Scooby Doo or it has some flaw, which does not allow it to work and by mistake, in all his fun, Scooby Doo catches the culprit and takes away with all the credit. The culprit is then hold on to and his ghost mask is removed which shows him to be some person involved in it all and he would be the most blameless one out of the whole loot of suspects. The Scooby Doo cartoon ends also in the same manner every time, as the culprit says the line “And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you blasted meddling kids and your stupid dog”. With this, the culprit is taken away and the kids carry on with their next expedition.

THE CHARACTERS
Scooby Doo cartoon series revolves around four teenagers and one dog who try their level best to solve some mysteries related to ghosts and other super natural powers and even succeed every time. There was this intelligent, smart, confident teenage boy Freddie who used to pair up with the fashionable teenage girl Daphne. The two of them used to go together to find clues of who to solve the mystery and succeeded most of the time. Velma was sent alone, who always used to fall into trouble and danger. Shaggy and Scooby Doo, the Great Dane dog used to pair up to find clues but instead they used to end up finding fun, food, snacks and the ghost. Shaggy and Scooby Doo were the forever so hungry and used to eat even the animal food namely Scooby Snacks, which were the favorite of both the dog and Shaggy too. Scooby Doo costumes were not something out of the world, but simple plain t – shirts and pants that teenagers wear. Velma used to wear nice and fashionable short skirt whereas Fred wore a pant – shirt. Scooby Doo Daphne costume was the typical orange pleated short skirt and she wore the geeky spectacles. Scooby Doo Shaggy costume was a green colored t-shirt that was very loose for him as he himself was very thin and skinny. Scooby Doo wore nothing and was just a brown colored dog with patches of black. Scooby Doo was the speaking dog of the Scooby Doo gang.

The Scooby Doo cartoon has gained a lot of success, love, affection and fan following along with an increased TRP all the time, thanks to the young kids who love the cartoon and the adults who are addicted to it since they have been watching it since they were kids. the major reason why Scooby doo cartoon is a hit is because it is a mix of the horror genres and has a lot of humor to add to it that the children never feel scared while watching the Scooby Doo cartoon. The young kids can give up on all their tensions of having a nightmare, feeling scared for the rest of the time and can give up on the worries that they have. Simply watching the funny and forever humorous Scoobydoo has made the kids just laugh. The Scoobydoo has gained a lot of success in the sense that the TV Guide had placed the Scoobydoo on number 22 on its list of 50 greatest cartoons of all time in 2002; Channel 4 of UK ranked the Scooby Doo show on number 13 on the list of 100 greatest cartoons of all time in 2005 and in the Guinness Book of World Records, Scooby Doo show held the record of having the maximum number of shows ever produced, which was previously held by the Simpsons and later returned back to them.

THE SCOOBY DOO CARTOON
The original cartoon Scooby Doo was in its later years transformed to the cartoon a Pup Named Scooby Doo that made its debut on the world television for the first time on the ABC channel in the year 1988. A Pup Named Scooby Doo was a Scooby Doo cartoon that was irreverent and was inspired by the Tex Avery and Bob Clampett. This new Scooby Doo series had a more of a Looney Tunes like touch in it. In this cartoon, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, it was revealed by the mother of Scooby Doo that his original name is Scoobert. Coolsville was the name of the hometown of the entire Scooby Doo cartoon gang. This Scooby Doo cartoon lasted till the year 1991 and was a big success for the Scooby Doo creators!
