DEXTERS LABORATORY

Dexter’s Laboratory, the famous geeky cartoon was created by Genndy Tartakovsky, written by Craig McCracken, Seth MacFarlane, Zeke Mann and the creator himself. Dexter’s Lab is basically a science fiction comic cartoon series released in the United States of America by Hanna-Barbara from 28th of April 1996 till 1999. However, the Dexter’s Laboratory was later telecasted as part of the Cartoon Network Studios from 2001 till 2003. The Dexter’s Laboratory was telecasted on the Cartoon Network channel and even today, Cartoon Network and its sister channel, Boomerang show reruns of the Dexter’s Laboratory cartoons series. Dexter’s Laboratory cartoons episodes lasted for around 22 minutes excluding the breaks and with them, they made up for around 30 minutes. The Dexter’s Laboratory never had any sequel seasons thereafter but its first season had enough episodes, which were 78 in number.

DEXTER’S LAB CARTOONS STORY CONTINUITY
Dexter’s Lab cartoons were initially created with no motive to follow a story or any kind of continuity. The Dexter’s Lab cartoons always started from a new story every time and everyday. In fact, even one episode had three or at least two cartoon slots that had different stories. Once the first one ended, the second one used to start with a new beginning. The last episodes that is, the 78th one did not have two episodes as it was just one long episode titled “Last But Not the Beast”. This was the only exception to Dexter’s Lab cartoons. There was no continuity in the Dexters Laboratory however.

DEXTERS LABORATORY DRAWBACKS
Dexter’s Laboratory cartoons had many shortcomings but even still they were very popular amongst the children and even the adults. Fist problem was that Dexter was rarely shown as getting success in his experiments and his innovations in spite of being such a brainy and an intelligent one. Dee Dee, Dexter’s sister was the dumb one but still she used to give him advice that Dexter could have never thought of, at times coming to him as a boon. Then, Dexter has always tried his level best to avoid Dee Dee or anyone to enter his laboratory but Dee Dee always managed to enter his laboratory, nobody knows how. Dexter is shown to have a big and an endless laboratory, which is in contrast as his house is too small and the way to his laboratory is shown through his own room. Dexter’s parents are naïve and blindfolded to the existence of Dexter’s Lab in their own house, even if things and proofs are right in front of their eyes. However, cartoons are supposed to be unrealistic and therefore, even Dexters Laboratory forms one of the group. Dexter’s Lab cartoons at times have a very devastating ending where either Dexter’s Lab is exploded into bits and pieces or the earth is finished because of some kind of miss-hap with his experiments but the next day, the episodes start with a new beginning where there is no reference as to how he recovered from the whole accident.
