Born on the 26th of March 1985, Keira Christina Knightley was a born dyslexic. Though she is today 25 years old but she made sure all her
life that the problem of her dyslexia never touched her studies and her education. Keira Knightley always was very keen to study and get educated and thus changed her school thrice to suit her comforts and performed wonderfully well.
3 YEARS OLD AND SHE DECIDED HER CAREER
Keira Knightley was in Teddington, London in England to parents, Sharman MacDonald who was a playwright in the Hollywood film industry and father, Will Knightley who worked as an actor, not in the Hollywood film industry though but in the television industry and theater. Keira Knightley acquired the English descent from her father as well as her birthplace and the Scottish and Welsh ancestry from her mother’s side. Their family completes with her elder brother named Caleb who is 6 years elder to her born in the year 1979. After she was born in Teddington, Keira Knightley shifted to the Richmond where she first started going to the school, Stanley Junior and then shifted to the Teddington School and finally completed her graduation from the Esher College. In spite of being a dyslexic, Keira Knightley was a bright student. Keira Knightley was allowed to have an agent with her to help her as she was a dyslexic and she requested her mother to give her one when she was just three years old as she had always dreamt of being an actress in the Hollywood film industry. Exactly after three years, when Keira Knightley had turned six years old, her mother gave her an agent telling her that it was an award for her studying hard at the school. Keira Knightley herself says that she wanted to become an actress since she was a kid and was single minded about acting as a career. Even in her school, Keira Knightley has done many productions like the After Juliet and The United States.
KEIRA’S ACTING CAREER STARTED AT THE AGE OF 13
Hot and sexy, Keira Knightley started her acting career when she was not even full 13 years old. When a child can decide her career at the age of 3 then getting that career at the age of 13 is not a big thing. In fact when Keira Knightley was 13, she was already a part of Hollywood. Before that, Keira Knightley had stepped into the small screen industry, the media and so much more. In the mid 1990s, when Keira Knightley was not even 10, she had been a part of many made for television movies like The Bill. in the year 1998, Keira Knightley was cast for the first episode of the Star Wars titled The Phantom Menace because she had a very close resemblance to their actress, Natalie Portman. When the two actresses used to come in full make up, their respective mothers could not make out who is who. Then in the year 2001, Keira Knightley got the role of Robin Hood’s daughter for the Hollywood movie, Princess of Thieves. Then she did the Hollywood movies, The Hole, a thriller movie; Doctor Zhivago in the same year that is 2001. 
None of these movies or television series could get Keira Knightley to the top or get her critical acclaim from the audience or even the critics. In the year 2002, Keira Knightley gave in her best and chose the right Hollywood movie for her that was Bend It like Beckham! That totally engrossed about 50 million US dollars all over the world, including 18 million just in the United Kingdom and the rest 32 million in the United States, not including India in the list. The movie was a super duper hit and from there, she began to be counted as on of the top actresses if the Hollywood film industry. The next movie that Keira Knightley did was again a super hit titled The Pirates f the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. This movie was the biggest hit of the year 2003 and Keira Knightley gained more recognition after this movie. She was now the most sought after Hollywood actress. Other movies that Keira Knightley did after these breakthroughs were Love Actually, King Arthur, Domino, Pride and Prejudice, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Silk, Atonement, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, etc.

She, very seriously denies any marriage plans for some long time as she wants to pay attention to her career. Keira Knightley even said that she was becoming a workaholic some time back and did not like it because she was scared to hate her passion. She does not what happened with her in the past five years as it seems a single to her. Keira Knightley even planned to take a break from acting for a year to get back with a great vigor and full excitement. And for the time being, the actress wants to pay attention to her personal life and mend things.
THE ANOREXIA CONTROVERSY
Keira Knightley has stated that there were rumors that she was an anorexic because of her slim and slender figure in the Hollywood block buster, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. She even sued the Daly Meal Magazine which stated that Keira Knightley had lied about her anorexia for which Keira Knightley had sued them and got a settlement for the same.
NAME THE AWARD AND SHE HAS IT
Keira Knightley has worked so hard for the Hollywood film industry that till now, she has won almost every kind of award at least once. Keira Knightley’s award winning and nomination winning movies were Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Atonement, the Hole, Bend It like Beckham, King Arthur and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, ride and Prejudice etc etc. Whether it is a Golden Globe Award, The Academy Award, Satellite Award, The BAFTA, Empire Awards or even the People’s Choice awards she has them all.
